Title: Light Brownies

Yield: 6 Servings

1/3cButter, or replace with:
1/3c-Shortening mixed with
1tb-Hot water
1cBrown sugar
1 Egg
1tsVanilla
1cFlour
1/2tsBaking powder
1/8tsBaking soda
4ozSemi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2tsSalt
1/2cChopped nuts, optional

Melt butter (or shortening with water) in sauce pan over medium heat. Remove from heat, add to brown sugar and mix well. Allow mixture to cool. Stir in egg and vanilla. Add remaining dry ingredients and mix well. Pour mixture into greased baking pan (8x8 or 11x7).

Bake at 350 deg. F for 20 to 25 minutes.
